Motorcyclist Struck Head-On Trying To Avoid Crash In MD Dies: State Police

Anthony Taylor, 52, of Darlington, has been identified as the Harley-Davidson rider who was killed in a two-car crash on Route 1 in Street late in the afternoon on Tuesday, June 13.

Taylor was airlifted to an area shock trauma center at approximately 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday after he was riding south on Route 1 when a Toyota Sienna traveling in the opposite direction crossed over into his lane for unknown reasons.

Both drivers attempted to move into the shoulder to avoid colliding, leading to the fatal head-on crash.

Taylor was rushed to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, where he died from his injuries, Maryland State Police announced on Wednesday, June 14.

The 41-year-old driver of the Toyota was uninjured.

US Route 1 was closed for approximately two hours while the crash was investigated.

There have been several recent fatal crashes throughout Maryland since the weather has warmed up.
